Maurício Rodrigues is an enthusiast of innovation, urban technology and sustainability. He owns a master’s degree in electronic engineering and telecommunications from University of Madeira. Currently he works as a system integrator at ACIN – iCloud Solutions. He collaborated as a researcher at the University of Madeira in the AQUASENSOR project, a wireless sensor network platform for automation and monitoring of agriculture irrigation systems. He co-authored the “Funchal – Environmentally Intelligent City” project, which won the Dr. Fernão Ornelas prize, a competition organized by the Municipality of Funchal in 2010 with the theme “Environmental Innovation for a Quality City”. He is also the author of the blog smarterfunchal.wordpress.com, a blog about urban technologies applied to the city of Funchal.
